3 — Quiet Green
Walk through one of the side doors of the Van Wickle Gates and you’ll step onto the “Quiet Green,” one of the oldest and most serene areas on campus. On nice weather days, students settle on the grass to study, and professors hold classes under the trees. In 2012, an archeology class dug on the Quiet Green and found many artifacts from the 1800s. As you look from left to right, you will see Carrie Tower, Hope College, Manning Chapel, University Hall, Slater Hall, and Rhode Island Hall.
