8 — North Campus
As you move north of Waterman between Brown and Thayer Streets, you find The Walk, a tranquil three-block greenway that connects the original Brown Campus with Pembroke Campus. Pembroke was a women’s college until it merged with the University in 1971. As you walk along, notice the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, the Sidney Frank Hall Life Sciences Building, the Bio-Medical Center, and the Peter Green House, home of the Department of History. Beyond Sidney E. Frank Hall for Life Sciences is the Pembroke Campus, home to dorms, classrooms, the Cogut Center for the Humanities, and the Verney-Woolley Dining Hall (commonly known as V-Dub). V-Dub is the smaller of two all-you-care-to-eat dining options at Brown.
