2 — Libraries

As you head down College Street, you pass between two of Brown’s seven libraries. The John Hay Library on your right is named for the private secretary to Abraham Lincoln, who graduated from Brown in 1858. The library houses special collections and is currently under renovation. The Rockefeller Library on your left is known by students as “The Rock” and is the main humanities and social sciences library at Brown.
