“I am the first person in my family to graduate from college. Since donning the cap and gown, I've made it my mission to help others do the same. Brown shares my commitment to access and dedication to student success. It is one of only a few dozen colleges that practices need-blind admission and promises to meet a student's full demonstrated need.
The new FLi Center is a tremendous resource in ensuring our first-generation college students and students from low-income families succeed at Brown.
I firmly believe the uncommon approach of the Open Curriculum to education creates thoughtful, reflective, life-long learners. I do warn students, like Uncle Ben in Spiderman, 'with great power comes great responsibility.' Are you up for the challenge?"
